20 Months Old
This week Li turned 20 months old. It’s also our last week of time off together, I go back to work Monday. Years ago I heard Nanci Griffith sing a song which has been on my mind for the last two weeks, I guess because we are moving on to the next phase.
Turn Around
Where are you goin’ my little one, little one?
Where are you goin’ my baby my own?
Turn around and you’re two
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out the door
Chorus
Turn around
Turn around
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
(Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own)
Where are you goin’ my little one, little one?
Little dirndles and petticoats, where have you gone?
Turn around and you’re tiny
Turn around and you’re grown
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Chorus
Where are you goin’ my little one, little one?
Where are you goin’ my baby my own.
Of course when I turn around I see the “Nutty Professor”!

OK, I think you can tell someone got caught doing something they weren’t suppose to be doing. You can really see a personality showing through. Oh me! I don’t know what her Dad is going to do in about 14 years.

Li loves operating the farm equipment; tractors, farm truck and especially her neighbor’s Kubota. Some afternoons she will cry until I take her out on the mower then we have a happy day. Luckily she will wear her headgear. She does a pretty good job, too.

Dad doesn’t know it yet but Li can get to things on top of his desk.
Oh the sweet joys of possessing things you know you shouldn’t have
What shall I do next?

Meet my new 21 lb leg weight!
We haven’t exercised in days because pretty much the entire family has been sick at some point during the past month. BUT we are feeling better now. Bad news is that it looks like someone is going to need a haircut and I’m not sure how that’s going to work out.

Li has been sick since May 23rd, 11 days of it with high fever. She’s feeling much better but is still suffering the lingering after effects; ear infections and such. She’s been in a pretty miserable state so we haven’t had an opportunity for pictures. BUT before Mr. Virus came to visit I did get Li off to the photographer for a few pictures. Here’s a sampling of our happy girl. Click on the pictures if you want to see all the fat little toes.
