Wildflower Walk

April 18th, 2010

Li attended her first Wildflower Walk at Standing Stone State Park.  It was a beautiful day with lots of exploring to do.

Nanny showed her how to blow kisses and when we were leaving she blew her first kiss to Ranger Shawn!

Blessed at the Buddhist Temple

March 17th, 2010

On the way to the American Consulate we would be going right past a well know Buddhist temple. We all decided to stop and take a quick tour. While inside we all took part in a Buddhist ritual that blessed and calmed the children. An actual Buddhist monk presided. Everywhere you turned you could see and smell incense burning. It was quite interesting to see. I’m glad we stopped. I left my camera on the bus. I wasn’t sure if Buddha cared for his picture to be taken.

The Flat Sisters just finished dinner with Angie, Trey and Li while on a cruise of the Pearl River, Guangzhou, China.

A view out the window of Guangzhou. (I think Flat Abby is getting a little rough around the edges <grin>)

Goat City

March 15th, 2010

Guangzhou is also known as Goat City. The legend goes something like five celestial beings descended from the heavens on goats bringing good luck so that the city may never go hungry. This monument is at the highest point in Yuexiu Park.

Imperial Gardens

March 7th, 2010

All the couples were having their picture taken in front of this tree so Angie and I jumped in. We didn’t find out why until afterward. I took a picture of the guide post sign; hopefully it’s readable.

Sightseeing in Beijing

March 7th, 2010

Jet-lag has got the best of us so I’m behind on posting. Just can’t seem to stay awake past 6pm and then we are wide awake at around 2:30 am. I’d say that is fixing to change tomorrow when we get Li!  Anyway, yesterday we visited Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and The Great Wall. Here’s a few pics we took at Tiananmen Square:
